POL Value

The POL Value product shows how activity on Polygon Chain reaches the POL token through transaction fees, burn, protocol emissions, validator and staker rewards, treasury funding, and changes in effective supply.

Use it when you want a compact economic view of where POL comes from, where it goes, and which flows may contribute to long-term value capture. It describes observable network and token mechanics; it does not predict the market price of POL.

What The Product Shows

The opening panel combines current POL market context with the main value-capture metrics:

  • POL price and market capitalization;
  • cumulative value captured through burn, validator and staker rewards, and treasury funding;
  • value capture as a share of market capitalization;
  • recent POL burn and supply context.

Network Fees

The Network Fees section follows POL paid for transactions and network usage. It separates:

  • Base fees, which are routed to POL burn and removed from total supply;
  • Priority fees, which fund block producers and validators under the applicable distribution rules.

The period selector lets you compare the same flows across available time windows without changing their accounting meaning.

Protocol Emissions

Protocol Emissions tracks newly issued POL and separates the two main destinations:

  • staking emissions paid to validators and stakers for chain security;
  • treasury emissions allocated to the Polygon Community Treasury.

Emissions are a funding source, while validator commission only determines how staking rewards are divided between validator operators and stakers.

POL Value Capture

The value-capture chart presents cumulative POL and USD-equivalent outcomes by category. Burn reduces effective supply; validator and staker rewards fund security participants; treasury funding supports ecosystem activity. These categories are shown together for comparison but are not treated as economically identical.

POL Supply

The supply section combines historical gross supply, permanent burn, effective supply, and the current projection horizon. The projection uses the documented emission assumptions and recent burn rate; it is a mechanical scenario, not a forecast of future activity or price.

Data And Limitations

POL Value uses the same canonical POLTRACK dataset as Polygon Tokenomics. Source timing can differ across fee collection, burn execution, emission accounting, market data, and validator distributions, so the newest period may update as source events settle.
