Monthly fee summary

• Jan 2026: 184,366,263 transactions, 29.58M POL collected, $3.82M USD, average base fee 571 gwei, average priority fee 82 gwei, gas utilization 60.9%, average user cost $0.0208 per transaction. Elevated base regime — 87% of fees came from base burn. Priority cheap, blockspace not contested.
• Feb 2026: 221,350,546 transactions, 47.97M POL collected, $4.94M USD, average base fee 477 gwei, average priority fee 335 gwei, gas utilization 65.0%, average user cost $0.0223 per transaction. Peak month for fee collection. Both base and priority high; sustained 65% block target. Bor v2.6.0 release Feb 19.
• Mar 2026: 305,625,498 transactions, 29.44M POL collected, $2.86M USD, average base fee 116 gwei, average priority fee 228 gwei, gas utilization 59.4%, average user cost $0.0094 per transaction. Lisovo (Mar 4) + Bor v2.6.3 (Mar 11). From Mar 12 base fee snaps to ~100 gwei floor and stays.
• Apr 2026: 284,875,800 transactions, 22.42M POL collected, $2.03M USD, average base fee 100 gwei, average priority fee 197 gwei, gas utilization 48.3%, average user cost $0.0071 per transaction. Floor regime stabilises. PIP-85 (Apr 8) redistributes priority — no user-fee delta.

Network events that affected user fees

• 2026-01-09 — Dandeli hardfork at block 81,424,000: Gas target raised from 50% to 65% of block gas limit. From Jan 10 onward gas utilization snaps to a steady 64–65% — the new equilibrium that base fee then settles around.
• 2026-02-19 — Bor v2.6.0 client release (PIP-81): Lisovo announcement, shipped Dynamic EIP-1559 work. Validator rollout Feb 19–22 coincides with average base fee collapsing from 626 to 78 gwei in three days.
• 2026-03-11 — Bor v2.6.3 — Dynamic Target Gas (PIP-79): Structural change in fee collection. Base fee pinned near 100 gwei floor from Mar 12 onward; gas utilization drops from 65% to ~48%.
